Alison Hawthorne Deming

Alison Hawthorne Deming is a professor of creative writing and former director of the Poetry Center at the University of Arizona. A poetry and prose writer, she received a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University, two National Endowment of the Arts Fellowships, a Pushcart Prize, and a fellowship from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, among other awards. Her most recent book, Genius Loci (2005), is a collection of poems about human and nonhuman worlds.
