Edwin P. Pister

Edwin P. “Phil” Pister is the executive secretary of the Desert Fishes Council and has been referred to as “the father of native fish restoration in America.” He is a retired fisheries biologist from the California Departmentof Fish and Game and the winner of many conservation awards, including the President’s Fishery Conservation Award from the American Fisheries Society and the Edward T. LaRoe III Memorial Award from the Society for Conservation Biology.
