Ming Xu is a professor and research group leader at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on climate change and ecosystem processes, especially carbon cycle and climate change impact, vulnerability, and adaptation. He is also interested in process-based ecosystem modeling and climate change policy. He has been a leading scientist on a number of major research projects in the United States and China, including international cooperation projects. He is the director of the Global Carbon Project (GCP) Beijing Office.
