Peter Singer is an Australian philosopher who specializes in applied ethics. He is the Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University and laureate professor at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics at University of Melbourne. He served as chair of philosophy at Monash University and founded its Centre for Human Bioethics. He coauthored his most recent book, The Ethics of What We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter (2007), with Jim Mason.
