Sulak Sivaraksa is the founding director of the Sathirakoses-Nagapradeepa Foundation, a Thai non governmental organization guided by a spiritual, environmental, and activist vision. He also cofounded the International Network of Engaged Buddhists. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 and has been honored with the Swedish Right Livelihood Award, the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization Award, and the Millennium Gandhi Award. Sulak has written more than one hundred books and monographs in Thai and English, most recently The Wisdom of Sustainability: Buddhist Economics for the 21st Century (2009).
