Wendell Berry is a poet, essayist, farmer, and novelist. He has taught at Stanford University, the University of Kentucky, Georgetown College, and Bucknell University, among others. Berry has received numerous awards and honors, including a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, a Rockefeller FoundationFellowship, a National Institute of Arts and Letters award for writing, the Lyndhurst Prize, and the Aitken-Taylor Award for Poetry. He has written more than forty works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, including The Mad Farmer Poems (2008) and Whitefoot (2009).
